Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain
- My professional aim is to make a contribution to organizational value addition through hard work by leveraging the knowledge and skills acquired through academic studies and work experience. [Short biography]: I received a PhD in Economics from the department of International Trade at Jeonbuk National University, Korea, which is one of the oldest commerce schools in the world. I also received the outstanding academic award of internationally recognized MBA program from Rajshahi University, Bangladesh. I teach research methods, international business, management information systems, strategic management, business communication, organizational behavior, employee training and development, and strategic human resource management. I have long been engaged in research involving SEM tools in modern business, relationship management, new digital social media and marketing, s-commerce, e-commerce, and information technology adoption behavior. I have published around 67 full research papers, some of which have appeared in top journals such as the International Journal of Emerging Markets, Computational Economics, SAGE Open, Asia-Pacific Journal of Business Administration, International Journal of e-Collaboration, Sustainability, Management, Asian Journal of Business Research, Journal of Distribution Science, Asian Economic and Financial Review, PSU Review Research, and so on. I have presented more than 26 of my research works in different international and national conferences. Especially, two of my papers were presented virtually at the 5th World Research Summit for Hospitality and Tourism, University of Central Florida, USA. Several papers have been presented at international conferences in South Korea. In addition, I presented my recent papers at Management of Innovation and Sustainability: Vision 2041, IBA-Dhaka University, Annual Banking Conferences, BIBM, 1st Jamal Nazrul Islam National Conference, Chittagong University, 2nd International Conference on Business and Management, BRAC University, 5th International Integrated Research Conference on Governance and Modernization in Changing Environment, BARD. As a Principal Investigator, 7 of my research projects have been funded by many prestigious institutions, such as University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, Institute of Research and Training, Hajee Mohammand Danesh Science and Technology University. Recently, our collaborative research project was funded by the Korea Research Foundation for 3 years, where my role is a foreign collaborator. My research has been recognized internationally and nationally via various awards for its originality, quality, and productivity. The awards and honors received included the Best Paper Award and the Top Paper Award in social commerce. In addition, I received a scholarship from the Korean Government which is extremely competitive and prestigious. Due to my expertise in online business and information technology adoption behavior, especially e-commerce, s-commerce, social media acceptance, customer relationship management, and entrepreneurial development, I have been invited to review many manuscripts for top journals such as SAGE Open, Technology in Society, International Journal of Business Innovation and Research, Applied Computing and Informatics, PSU Research Review. Passionately, I serve as a Co-convener of the International Conference on Business and Economic Challenges, organized by the Faculty of Business Studies at Hajee Mohammand Danesh Science and Technology University. Also, I have been working as an Associate Editor for South Asian Journal of Marketing (Emerald Publishing), and I have worked as an Article Editor for SAGE Open.

Description: Entrepreneurship is fairly a new field of study that has attracted most of the researchers worldwide as it is important for socio-economic development in recent decades. The project aim is to develop an integrated research model that explains the consequences of entrepreneurial education, skills, and social support which affects university student’s entrepreneurial intentions, by using the theory of planned behavior (TPB) model, a so-far unexplored area of research. In addition, this paper examines the moderating role of TPB with the connection between entrepreneurial education, skills, and social support for entrepreneurial intentions. The online survey with a structured questionnaire will be used to collecting data which is analyzed by the structural equation model (SEM). Perceiving that entrepreneurial educational support, entrepreneurial skills, and social support will positively connect with three elements of the TPB (personal attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control), entrepreneurial intentions. Also perceived that the TPB will significantly connect with entrepreneurial intentions, will have significant moderating effects on entrepreneurial intentions. Therefore, proposing that the results of this study will boost entrepreneurial intentions at numerous entrepreneurial levels and will be helpful in achieving the Government’s goal of increasing the number of startups in the future.

Description: The aim of the project is to devlop an integrated reserah model that explains the antecedents and consquences of social media use in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Using the technology-organization-environment (TOE) framework, this project will examine the impact of social media use in SMEs in Bangladesh, a so far unexplored area of research. In particular, 1) This project will propose an alternative business strategy to SMEs by assessing the technologal aspects (compatibility, relative advanges, cost, complexity, trialability), organizational factors (top management support, entrepreneurial orientation) and environmental issues (competitive intensity, competitive pressure, bandwagon pressure). 2) In addition, this study will validate the competitive advantages of SMEs by adopting social media as a strategic choice.

Description: The current project strives to strengthen knowledge of the retail banking service literature by identifying the associations between service justice, service quality, social influence, and banks image towards customer satisfaction and loyalty. Next, it observes the moderating effect of government and non-government bank on the above relationships. Followed by, determine the effect size of service justice, service quality, social influence, and corporate image by structural equation modeling in the Bangladeshi retail banking context.
