Dr. B M Hasanul Banna
Dr. Hasanul Banna is a Senior Lecturer in Banking and Finance at the Department of Finance and Economics, Business School, Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), UK. Prior joining, he served at the Faculty of Economics and Administration, University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia. Dr. Banna earned a Ph.D. in Finance and Banking from UM with a prestigious Full-Bright scholarship and undergraduate in Economics and Finance (with a full scholarship and with top position) from the Faculty of Economics and Management Science, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
He is actively involved in various scholarly activities. His research spans banking & finance, financial technology, financial inclusion, digital finance, ESG, managerial ability, and micro-finance. He is a principal investigator of several research projects mostly dealing with Fintech, cyber security, digital financial inclusion, sustainable finance, and bank risk-taking. He has published 30+ peer-reviewed articles in high-impact factor journals including Energy Economics (ABS 3*), Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money (ABS 3*), Annals of Operations Research (ABS 3*), Finance Research Letters, Journal of International Development, Annals of Public and Cooperative Economics, Journal of Cleaner Production, International Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Finance and Management, Singapore Economic Review, Studies in Economics and Finance, Journal of Asia Pacific Economy among others, 5+ book chapters and 20+ conference papers.
